bye bye old decor....

hello! you think I need to vacuum?!

You thought I was kidding when I said I had a lot of Palm Tree decor, didn't you?! The last picture is my dining room table (that I'd love to replace--yes chairs don't match, the front 2 belong in our kitchen, but are currently broken! add that to the ever growing to-do list!) filled with just SOME of the items I'm selling tomorrow. I also have tons of garbage bags filled with kids toys, picture frames, decorations, etc. that has built up over the last 8 years and need to go. I feel a bit guilty about giving away some of the items, as they were given to me by people I love, but 8 years is a long time to have one item and I feel I got some good use out of everything I'm selling. I'm confident they got their money worth. Plus, it's just not me anymore and I'm ready for a style change. (missed that post? check it out HERE.)

So tomorrow is the garage sale. I am fervently praying that we will sell most, if not all of our items. (items that are not sold will be donated!) It would be nice to have that extra cash to put towards our trip to California. So far everything will be paid for in cash, and with so much packed into 2 weeks, we'll need all the extra we can get!

With the garage sale going on tomorrow, I won't be at my 8-4:30 job (YAY!) and in about 20 mins the weekend will officially begin!

Have a Happy Weekend!

  1. So proud of you! It's hard to get rid of stuff you've been given or used for years, especially when you don't have stuff to replace it yet. Hope the garage sale went well! :)

  2. Wow you did have a lot of palm tree decor. :) And my picture would have fit right into your collection. LOL! I will have to show you our giant palm tree. :) I totally get what you mean about feeling kind of bad for selling or giving away items that people bought you. I actually put 2 big items in a closet just last week that were wedding gifts from co-workers, but it was time for them to exit stage left. :) I hope your garage sale was a success!

  3. Feels so good to re-design. My problem is that I never know where to start, ha ha!! Good luck with your garage sale! :)
