Oh Jillian!

So last night I think I almost died! I bought the Biggest Loser, Last Chance Workout DVD. Now, I'm still going to get The Shred, but when I went to Walmart, they only had this one. This is a 6 week work out and gets harder and longer as you go. Well I just did the first one last night and I think I died! It really works you out hardcore and no joke about being last chance workout material! Jillian is such a good motivator on this DVD as well, sometimes I hate things she says on show and all the cussing, but in this she kicks your butt and makes you want to move faster and harder! Thank you Jillian for kicking my butt!

Well last night I did another meal from my new BL Simple Swap cookbook. It sounded interesting and I figured it could go either way on the taste factor. It's called Sweet Grilled Cheese. You use Cinnamon Raisin bread (they say the Ezekiel brand, but they didn't have it at my store, so I got one that was low calorie and high fiber) and low-fat Provolone cheese. NO BUTTER (that's the key people) Use olive oil spray or cooking spray, I have one that is called Smart Start, it's got tons of omega-3's and it's with olive oil, so it's better than the traditional sprays. Anyway...I made them and they were really, really good! It's the right amount of the sweet/salty combo. And of course Jimmy is the person I have to impress here and he really liked them and said to make them again! Ryan--he just liked the bread! Go figure!

I made a side of green beans (the bag you pop in the microwave, best invention ever), again no butter and I made myself a salad w/ olive oil for dressing...I say myself because Jimmy only ate the cucumbers and so did Ryan, they both don't like tomatoes or mushrooms, nor are they fans of spinach leaves! Crazy boys! I would recommend this recipe, especially if you love grilled cheese! I think it would go well w/ tomato soup too, but I of course was out, so next time I will try it with it.
I have noticed I'm really enjoying cooking healthier. I get excited to try new recipes and see what tastes good and what doesn't, and it's nice to know I can still eat and lose weight! I do not agree with giving up anything...sorry people I love my sugar and pasta! I just know that I can use whole wheat pasta and limit sugar, but not give it up completely.
Oh..and I lost a pound since Monday, yes it's just 1 lb but to me that's victory and motivation to keep on going!!

  1. I think they do have Ezekiel bread at Meijer. It's in the freezer section. Weird, I know, but check!

  2. Or you can go to their website (foodforlife) and do the store finder. Although, I know they have it at the Giant Eagle and it wasn't listed, so I'm not sure how up to date that tool is.

  3. oh really? I would have NEVER thought to look in the freezer section. I will look for it next time I go shopping! I know they have some other name brand stuff they use that I can't find, I'll use that tool!

  4. You should check out Vitamuffins too. I ordered some off their website and we didn't really like them (muffins and brownies). Recently I decided to give the corn bread vita tops a try. Michael really likes corn bread, so I figured it was worth a go. They weren't bad at all and only 1 point! Meijer has those too (freezer section).
