Wednesday's are the middle of the week. "Hump Day", if you will. To brighten my day (and hopefully yours) I'm putting together some beautiful pictures to look at and wish for! With the house being de-cluttered and changing, to myself, trying to change my body and mind, I'm getting inspired all around to really change a lot in my life.
I think change starts with in, but I also think changing outside things can really help solidify the change and even change your mood.
For me, I think a happy, inviting home will do the trick. Walking in the door, I want to be greeted with bright, happy colors. The artwork of my children framed and their sweet faces that line the walls.
I'm not sure why I'm all of a sudden motivated to make the change, but I'm glad I feel the motivation and the desire to change a lot of things in my life. The change that is the most fun, yet challenging is redecorating.
Here are some of my inspirations. What do you think about painted furniture? White walls with colored accents? Painted walls instead? colored cabinets?! Worth getting a colored couch, or go for the neutral? I'd love to hear your ideas!
source.
I love painted furniture and painted cabinets. A LOT! White walls are ok but tend to get a little "cold" for me. If you're gonna keep it neutral so that colored furniture and accessories stand out, I'd go with a warmer tone of white, not just plain stark white. Make sense? :P And I love the outfit. It's beautimous!

I am not a fan of white walls... mostly because that is the ONLY color our whole entire house was growing up. My mom would paint the walls white and then two years later, repaint them white. So to me, white equals boring (even though others can do white well, I still struggle with it). That's why there wasn't one white wall in my condo. You can still do colored (however so lightly) walls and colored furniture. Or go with a different "neutral" paint other than white.
ReplyDeleteI always wanted a bright red couch. We were going to get one too, but were on a budget and the neutral stuff was much cheaper. Therefore, I painted the wall red. I think I'm over that phase, but I do like neutral furniture for the simple fact that you can change things out. You can have purple accents one year and then go with green the next.
I like painted furniture. I'm not sold on painted cabinets. I like the "idea" of them sometimes, but mostly I like them white, off white, or wood colored.
I love pictures of rooms with white walls, but I don't like it much in my own home because it makes me feel like things are unfinished. I love bright color accents. That light blue kitchen with the red table and chairs is awesome. :)
ReplyDeleteThese spaces are so fun, creative, and inspirational :-)
